NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Review/Samples/Kids

Tomorrow is a big day and as you guessed it’s Saturday and what do I usually do on Saturdays……you are correct, shooting weddings. Well, but tomorrow it’s going to be a wedding like never before and I am very excited as I just acquired another lens and this one is ultra wide Nikkor 14-24 and on a full frame camera like Nikon D3s this becomes very very interesting.
I have shot and still do weddings with Nikkor 24-70 and it does very nicely on the wide end but felt and needed something even wider then 24mm. I was looking at Nikkor 17-35 and though as many say it can be more practical for weddings well the fact of the matter is this I still want something wider then 17mm plus this particular lens is very old by now and the edge sharpness is simply not acceptable to me as I tried it and found to be very soft.
Well moving forward my new 14-24 just arrived few days ago and there’s nothing better then having your own kids to practice on and this is what I excatly did to prapere myself and get to know this lens right before the wedding.
Well….one word I am very impressed by this new ultra wide lens. It’s extremely sharp, very fast focusing and the possibilities with this lens are endless!! I can only imagine my creativity at the weddings with lens going over the top. Picture this how awesome that would be capture the entire church where ceremony is taking place without backing away to far from the front and still it will not be the same. Or how about being in a very small room with lots of people this lens will simply shine and with some creative angles and cool distortion and I could just go on and on and like I said the possibilities are endless.
