Session with my daughter/ Portrait photography
Just before my wedding season kicks off I though I would share with you a portrait session with my lovely and beautiful little Emily.
It was an extremely easy set up nothing fancy at all. No special studio strobes or backgrounds or reflectors. This can be just as easily pulled off in any house with minimum efforts.
I always on the look out to create something special when it comes to portraiture. I simply can not stand to see all these boring looking portraits . To me they serve no meaning and convey absolutely nothing. My 8 year old son can easily say to a person look at me and then just pressing the button on the camera, LOL…I am actually laughing.
Not every person is a model and a photographer must have a special approach to make one comfortable in front of the camera and gain trust. And this is what I do with all of my clients. Being a friend to them is the most important thing to me in achieving great results with my photography. Friends know about each other just enough to feel relaxed around and listen to and be guided by.
Well here it is, enjoy the photos!

Rochester Pet Photography
I was asked if I can do another session with my Tommy and today I did just that. So here it is again lovely and one handsome cat and I am a proud owner.
I started this session off inside the house and used natural available light. My choice of gear was the Nikon D3s with Nikor 85mm 1.4 lens. It was fairly dim inside as the evening was approaching rather quick. I used ISO 6400 and had the lens opened at its widest which in turn afforded me to keep the shutter fast enough to freeze the moments as Tommy could not just sit still this time.
After some pix inside, we went on to our backyard to finish this hectic session there.
So here again my Tommy, enjoy!

Their Love Day: Marie & Frank – ( PART- I )
It is been a great wedding day in Syracuse NY and it is been such an honor and pleasure for me to be a part of it.
In this part one of this wedding I would like for you to see Marie getting ready, getting excited soon to meet Frank who’s been waiting on her arrival since early morning in the church.
This was probably for me at least, the longest time ever photographing bride getting ready. There were so many moments to capture, joy and excitement and the time of expectancy. Lots of guests arrived shortly and I was really all over them yet at the same time tried to stay away without much involvement.
In this part – 1 I wanted to focus more on beautiful Marie herself and show you briefly how getting ready part was done.
Enjoy,
-Yuriy

Hen’s Life…
Today I decided to test the AF of my just arrived Nikon D3s. One must know something about chickens before photographing and that is once roaming they never stay still. These guys are very fast and for me was a perfect target to see how reliable the AF of Nikon D3s really is.
Well nothing scientific about this test though, I already knew how awesome Nikon D3s is since I already own the D3. To me this photoshoot was more or less just to check the new camera making sure everything works as it should.
It was so much fun to see how these hens go about their busy life. It looks no matter how much food they got they always seem hungry. I also love how they stick together when threat nears and these particular ones were actually few seconds latter all at once ran off to fight the cat to save their poor friend in trouble. Hens are beautiful creatures, they can be so tamed just like any other pet that lives in the house and they also know and feel if they loved by their owner, and in return for his/her love and care they pay back with many eggs and those are really delicious.
Well I hope you’ll enjoy these series of photos and by all means do the poster a favor by leaving comments.
Thank you,
-Yuriy

Rochester NY Landscaping Photography
Today I would like to share with you some landscaping photos that I took this past summer. I went with buddy of mine to Finger Lakes NY to do just that, enjoying the beauty of nature by taking some pictures of it. Finger Lakes is really gorgeous no matter what time of the year one goes there, it just simply so cool to relax while taking photos and be surround at the same time by the beauty we have in our area.
I had with me my Canon 5D Mark 2 and with the resolution of some 21MP it is truly one awesome tool to use for any kind of landscaping work. There is just so much details one can see for either big prints or an insane freedom to crop.
As a Rochester wedding photographer to know many great looking locations is a plus and by doing some photography outside weddings around the area is really giving me knowledge and expertise to take my wedding clients to some awesome places because the background behind does matter.
Enjoy the photos,
-Yuriy

My article has been published on ezinearticles.com
I am excited to tell you my dear visitors that my article “Some Food For the Mind – Photography” has been published on ezinearticles.com.
I am just amazed when people think that if they had a top of the line photo equipment that alone will automatically makes them a better photographer. In my 10 year career as a photographer I went through all kinds of cameras be it a top of the line one or a basic SLR and what I came to understand is that not always what’s new is necessarily better then the model it is replacing.
I came across one article not too long ago about this famous photographer that utilizes his $250 point and shoot camera throughout his busy wedding day and the results are nothing short of amazing.
To me photography is like arts, this is how I see it, before I even press that button on the camera I already saw what to go for and from what angle, cropping and so on. I love to work with clients in a very natural approach yet creating something interesting worth looking at.
We live in a digital world today and programs like Photoshop if one knows how to work with the possibilities are endless. You are only limited by your imagination. Even with a point & shoot cameras one can create something very unique.
Of course everything takes time and one can’t just become a genius overnight.
As long as one willing to learn and gets the best out of what is at hand, a path to success is guaranteed.
My advise to all young photographers visiting my site is this, whatever camera you may have use it to the utmost and do not get an upgrade until you outgrow what you already have. In other words if the camera you have is limiting you in obtaining the images you go after that is when you know it is time to step up to a new equipment.

Today I would like to introduce you to Natalia and Rolandus . Beautiful couple so easy to work with and the results are simply tasteful..!
The wedding took place in Rochester NY initially but then we went to Canandaigua lake for official wedding portraiture. Beautiful place indeed and for me as a wedding photographer a great looking scenery is a plus in achieving beautiful photos.
In part one of their wedding I am here trying to present briefly the getting ready portion through the ceremony by showing to you my visitors their love, romance and passion towards each other.
These guys did really awesome. I truly witnessed their love for one another and thanking them for letting me share in their joy.
